Process after zone allocation of C.Excise Inspector (Chennai Zone Experience)

Generally dv/physical/medical process takes 2-3 days. But in exceptional circumstances, it may take 4 days also.

Document Verification:(Day 1)

Report at your CCO at 10 a.m. There, get a sheet and write an application to The Chief Commissioner and put your options for commissionerate. You will be allotted commissionerate as per cgl merit. You will only know your allotted commissionerate when your joining letter will be dispatched.

At CCO, when your name will be called, go to concerned table and get your documents verified. In Chennai, DV was very strict. They match character by character. After dv, they will provide you a permission letter for medical.

Medical:(Day 1/Day 2)

After document verification, you will be given a letter from CCO for medical. You have to go to the assigned hospital along with this letter. For Chennai Zone, the assigned hospital is Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital-Chennai.

In hospital, take a sheet of paper and write down your physical details like height, weight, eye sight etc. Compounder/Nurse will assist you in this.

Doctor will call you and ask you to read some words written on calendar/A.C or any object lying in the room just to test your vision.

Then you will have to go through color blindness test in which some colored sheets will be given and you have to tell the numbers written in that. Thats it. Medical test is over. After 30-60 min hospital will provide you a medical report. (Though It is said that they take Rs. 500-600 per head for this report.).

Submit this report to your CCO after filling some details mentioned behind the medical report.

Physical Endurance test:(Day 2/Day 3)

Physical test will be conducted only when medical test is done. When you submit your medical report to CCO, they will give to a letter for physical test.
Go to assigned location (For Chennai Zone, it was nacin campus, Anna Nagar, Chennai).

Your name will be called and you will be given a chest no. You have to put it on your chest throughout your test.

First they will measure your height and then chest expansion of 5 cm. They are lenient in chest expansion process. But height is compulsory.(For girls, only height and weight test, no chest expansion).

After this, You will be called for walking test and then cycling test in the group of 20-25 candidates. They are lenient in this process. In Chennai zone, you have to complete whole 8 km cycling , though leniency is in time. They allow extra 4-5 minutes if you cannot complete.

After physical test, you don't have to submit any report/documents to anywhere.
Just enjoy at home and after 15-20 days, receive the prestigious letter written
"भारत सरकार सेवार्थ".
