Work Profile:
PHC is divided into administrative and judicial wings. Furthermore each wing is divided into sections. Work nature is clerical. Assistants are called Dealing Assistants. As obvious in judiciary, there is huge pending work so if you are in judicial side, there is considerable work pressure. In administrative side , a comparative low work pressure is there. (Afterall you have to work in an organization where everything is judged👻).
Transfer from Judicial section to Administrative Section & vice versa happens after every 3-4 years. Office timing is 10 am to 5 pm, from Monday to Saturday.(2nd Saturday is holiday).
Pay& Perks:
There are enough leaves in High court. PHC works around 7 months only if
you count total leaves. For leaves, you can check PHC calender here.
Perks are as per Bihar Govt. rules. LTC (Leave travel) is in every four years. Medical reimbursement is there.
Govt. quarters are very few. So you have to wait for 4-5 years.
Power:
There is a social respect but inside the department, Assistants don't enjoy any power as such. PHC is also a corruption free institution. So there is no scope of UTM.
Promotion:

Promotion:
Promotion is very substandard in PHC. Normally an Assistant gets promoted to
Section Officer in 13-20 years. After Section Officer, rest promotion is
in every 3-4 years.
However, staffing pattern (Cadre restructuring plus recruitment rules) has been finalized and thus first promotion is expected to be in 6-7 years.
